Dental Receptionist Answering The Phone

What to Have Ready When You Call

  • Your name, date of birth, phone number, and email address
  • The reason for the referral or the area of concern
  • The name of the dentist, orthodontist, or physician who referred you
  • Dental insurance information, when applicable
  • Whether X-rays or other records have already been sent
  • Any time-sensitive concern described by the referring provider

Consultations and Treatment Appointments

Your first appointment is often a consultation. Dr. Udy reviews the referral, health history, examination, and available imaging before discussing treatment. Some patients need a separate surgical appointment because of procedure complexity, anesthesia planning, medical history, insurance requirements, or records that are not yet available.

Our team will explain what can be determined during the scheduling call and what must wait until Dr. Udy completes an evaluation.

Urgent Surgical Referrals

Northwest Oral Surgeons provides limited urgent surgical triage, primarily for cases referred by a dental or medical professional. Availability depends on the condition, records, health history, and the existing surgical schedule. Same-day care is not guaranteed.

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for life-threatening symptoms, uncontrolled bleeding, difficulty breathing, severe head or facial injury, or another medical emergency.
